Every Good boy Has A Story:Remembering Our Famous Aspins

'Every good boy has a story like Palakitik' / credits to the owner of the image: PETA ASIA

See the difference? Minsan napaka-ipokrito natin ano?

Metallica - Hero of the Day

SAVER THE WONDER DOG.

Do you remember the early year of 2000s? Aside from dancing he can do basic arithmetic and become a popular puppy face sa TV in various commercial and films.

Sadly, Saver died in 2009 due to heart attack that broke thousands of Filipinos heart especially his master.

Did you know that the Republic Act 8485 also known as Animal Cruelty Law in the Philippines is said to have drawn inspiration from "Saver the Wonder Dog".

ROY THE ASPIN

Foo Fighters - Hero

Roy is a mix breed of Asong Pinoy and Labrador who works for the Philippine Army. The dog became famous back in 2015 where he guide the rescuers for them to retrieve 4 cadavers in the landslide-stricken Manyakan, Benguet.

Nawalan na ng pag-asa ang mga relatives ng biktima but because of the help of our dog hero ay natagpuan niya ang katawan ng mga biktima sadly lang na wala na itong mga buhay. They said the dog went through tons of mud to find the missing bodies.

Sgt. Wilfredo Fiesta added that Roy is a special military working dog. Despite being a mix-breed, he is intelligent and can keep pace with pure breeds.

BLACKJACK

Have you ever heard of a dog that sends his master to school?

You heard it right. Eddie Aquino is the master of BlackJack, pinangalan sa kanya ay blackjack because of the dog's black coat. There tandem started when the Aquino family found a puppy underneath their tricycle in 2013. They took him and trained him to do tricks.

Now Blackjack and Eddie are performing at the sidewalks near the Manila City Hall. Both attracts the passers-by with dance numbers, card tricks and Blackjack's uncanny ability to solve basic math problems like Saver the Wonder Dog.

The boy Eddie said , "the earnings we get from our street performances are used to buy Jack's food, and for my allowance for school."

"Blackjack practically sends me to school", the boy added.

BUBOY

'Buboy and Sir Marcelo inside the classroom'

Buboy is said to be the Hachiko of the Philippines.

A stray dog named Buboy, captured the heart of the netizens as he continued to wait for the professor he came to perceive as his companion in Mabalacat City College, Pampanga.

But Buboy does not know that Professor Carmelito Marcelo, who took care of him for around 4 years, had passed away last May 18.

The dog followed the professor everywhere on campus, according to Marcelo's colleague Kristina Demafelix.

The loyal pup was brought to Sir Marcelo's wake, the first time he saw his human since he fell ill and was placed in the hospital's intensive care unit for two weeks. Kristina decided to bring Buboy to the professor's wake after she noticed that the pup had been waiting for the professor outside their faculty room.

The professor considered the pup as his child since has no family of his own.

But here is the bitter twist of the story.

The stray dog who went viral on social media for faithfully waiting for his human had passed away has joined him in the after-life.

Buboy was run over by a vehicle after just two weeks of Sir Marcelo's wake. Animal Kingdom Foundation said Buboy was following a guard when he was run over by a vehicle while crossing the highway, according to a teacher at Mabalacat City College.

HERO DOG KABANG

In Zamboanga, people witnessed a dog threw herself in front of a speeding motorcycle that was bearing down two little girls ages 11 and 3. The two girls and the motorcycle driver was unhurt. But the dog, the hero of the day, didn't get off so easily. Her snout was hit by the motorcycle became caught in the spokes. It was ripped off. I can only imagine the pain the dog was in. Her master Rudy Bunggal took her to the veterinarian, he was asked whether he wanted to euthanize her. He refused.

After being treated for the wounds and antibiotics, Kabang has been getting along as well as she can. She got pregnant and had puppies. She became a local and international legend with people visiting her at her owner's vulcanizing shop at all hours.

Fortunately, the story seems to be headed toward a happy ending. Veterinarians, pet lovers and humanitarian groups, including Animal Welfare Coalition. have been raising money to bring Kabang and her family to the US for the surgery treatment.

Doctors at the University of California operated on Kabang's wounds and treated her for a tumour and heartworm.

The dog goes home on June 8, 2013 and was greeted by a crowd of well-wishers at Manila airport and later reunited with her owner, Rudy Bunggal, in Zamboanga.

FARAH, BILLY AND THUNDER

Known as the Porac Trio. Although they are not Aspins but they helped a lot in search and rescue operations after an earthquake with many survivors trapped in the rubble of the collapsed four-storey building after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Luzon last year on April 22.

However, on November 13, 2019 the dog hero Farah passed away. Netizens expressed sadness at the passing of Farah, thanking the hero dog for her selfless service.

SAICY

Reports said a dog named "Saicy" followed its owner who was rushed by a neighbor to the Davao Doctors Hospital due to cardiac arrest. Staffs of the hospital said the dog kept barking outside the ER as Elenito Badayon the dog's master was fighting for his life.

Sad to say the patient died. The dog's owner may have been dead, but the love of the dog remains.

In a report conducted by Sun Star Davao, the neighbor who rushed Bandayon to the hospital were allowed to enter the ER when the patient was pronounced dead.

They said Saicy touched his owner and howled like she was crying and it seems that she know that her master is lifeless.

During Bandayon's wake Saicy has been often seen on top of its owner's coffin.

Saicy has been tagged the "Hachiko of Davao". Hachiko is the heartwarming story of a male Akita Inu dog, known for his remarkable loyalty to his owner. His story dates back to the 1920's when he was taken under the care of his master. Professor Hidesaburo Ueno.

PALAKITIK

Palakitik is a dog from the Volcano Island in Taal, where he usually greets tourist and team members conducting life saving clinic on Taal helping hundreds of malnourished and exhausted horses on the island. Palakitik excitedly greeting them and followed them around everywhere.

When the PETA rescue team members finally managed to step onto Taal island yesterday, they called out to her, not knowing whether she was dead or alive. To their amazement and relief, she came running up through ash, overjoyed to see friendly faces!

They gave her food, water and lots of cuddles and took her safely off the island to receive veterinary care.

Sana after all these stories lets be proud if you're an Aspin owners. Para sa akin Aspins are the most loyal dog. Hindi lang sila matatalinong aso they also guard homes and families at sana we learn how to treat them well. Nurture them with all the love you can give ang kapalit nun ay yung loyalty nila kasama na rin ng buhay nila. Yan ang Aspin ko!!

Palakitik rescued!

Mabuhay ang mga Aspins!
