5 Years Ago

• I was enjoying my post-heart bypass surgery. Everything went back to normal: my heart rate, my heartbeat, doing things without fatigue.

• I found my happiness in biking. It also helps strengthen my heart vitality. Every Sunday is a different route, but doing it with extra care because the pandemic is still very much alive 5 years ago.

• I was already working from home, not because of the pandemic, but I found this work-from-home job pre-pandemic. 

• I have 0 posts on this website. So busy living with another breath of life after heart surgery. Busy malling, biking, doing groceries, and other stuff that makes me feel more alive. 

• First time I feel the term work-life balance

• My goal was to rebuild a part of the house to have our own office for our work-from-home jobs. Thank God it was a successful reward. 

• I don't care how I look, except that there was an online meeting with bosses on Zoom.

• I cut my long hair to look extra young again. 

• Step by step, I have become more confident again in going outside by means of riding my bike. From exercising inside our subdivision, I made it through long rides. Many rides have been done solo. My stats are still in the Strava app. 

Sugar Hiccup - 5 Years

• - One of the greatest things that happened 5 years ago is that I adopted two female dogs, Krema and Milky. I never regret it because they are the sweetest dogs that I have. They are also 5 years old now. Time flies!

• - I continued my stray feeding for dogs and cats in the areas of  Imus, Bacoor, Medicion, Bucandala, and Malagasang. I even extend the stray feeding in Manila by means of biking. That is one of my reasons for riding. 

• - I have no friends. My old friends from the site slowly fade. My only considered friend at that time was my colleague from my work-from-home job. 

• -  I've got a reward from a relative because of a successful open-heart operation. We took our summer vacation in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, which I really enjoyed. 

• - I stop wearing pants, polos, and anything formal. 

• - I stopped watching TV because you can watch everything online. 

• - Literally my life is work-ride-work-ride-work-ride

Maybe a lot's changed fiver years as compared to now. Am I a better person after all these years? I don't know. There are things that I was better at five years ago. But there's one thing I am pretty sure of: 5 years ago, I was 40, and as they said, life begins at this age.
