Boring weekend -_- turning my radio on this weekend realizing that I only listening to one radio station and that is Jam 88.3. It's the only decent radio station existing today. I really miss my good 'ol weekend during elementary and high school days. How I miss my Remote Control Weekend.
It's been 4 years from now since my beloved radio station died on the airwaves. November 8, 2010 at 12:05am NU 107 announces that is there last airshow in the FM radio. NU 107 takes off and undergo major changes for some reasons. They are now playing more "pop" and "masa-oriented" shows. They changed their name to another radio station which is very popular today. But unfortunately, I'm not a fan. It's just very different from what it used to. Come on, the old radio station became part of my elementary, high school and a little bit in college days. The time when I used to collect PULP magazines and buy SONGHITS to sing a long with my favorite bands song lyrics. The only radio station that I don't need to text or call my requested songs because they will surely play it. Wherein the DJ's not need to ask to the caller again and again "what is your favorite radio station" before they play your request song. They somehow affect my life. They took away the only radio station thay playing my musical heroes, from Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, Kiss, Pink Floyd, Metallica, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, STP and all the other rock legends especially the God's of grunge Nirvana. May God Bless the soul of Kurt Cobain! \m/
If you're listening to NU you know absolutely what am I talking about. Remote Control Weekend is a part of the radio station's program every week when you can actually request your favorite songs. But me I don't need to request because I know someone will do it for me. And I don't really need to, because the taste of genre of every listeners of NU were just like mine. Every songs and request they play I love it, every single alternative rock songs sounds heaven in my ears. And I always love DJ Zach, he's always the coolest DJ at NU together with DJ Myrene. I'm awake the whole day during weekend just to hear these songs request:
These are the songs that I like from the past, and if this songs were only played today in the other FM radio stations. No doubt this will be at No.1 if there are countdowns.

Once, I heard Billy Corgan singing this song I always remember my high school life. I don't know just try to watch the official video of this song. It's really cool!
ANIMAL INSTINCT - CRANBERRIES
One of the best female vocalist, The Cranberries band! Sinong hindi makakalimot sa hit single nilang "Zombie" for sure ikaw na nagbabasa nito napa headbang ka rin nung una mo itong narinig sa airwaves. Ang tagal na nasa number 1 nun sa mga countdowns. Pero itong Animal Instinct is the one that I really like on their songs. The song is not about a mother na kailagang protektahan ang kanyang baby or a relationship between a male and female. Basta itong kanta na 'to maraming gustong iparating, maraming meaning. Siguro it's all about the animal instinct na meron tayong lahat.
SHINING LIGHT - ASH
Alam ko maraming hindi nakakakilala sa banda na ito. Pero kapag napakinggan nyo 'to magugustuhan nyo. The song talks about more of Jesus guidance when people drowns into darkness, there is always the Shining light that our Savior provides us to be saved.
ALL I WANT - REEF
Kung palungkutan naman na kantahan na talagang madadala ka sa kanta at may halong love life ang tema. The best 'tong kanta ng Reef para makapag emo ka. But not totally emo, the song is decent and malaman ang lyrics. Video pa lang na nasa bangka at gitna ng dagat malungkot na eh. I suggest you try to hear this song!

Lagi ko inaantay 'to noon sa MTV Alternative Rock, kyut na kyut kasi ko sa video na yan. Boxed milk na may kaluluwa at pumapag-ibig. Ewan ko gulong-gulo siya sa mundo hanggang sa madedbol nalang siya at umakyat ng langit. Hahahaha! Astig na video at kanta. Blur nga din pala yung nagpasikat ng kantang Wuuhooooooooooooo yng puro ganyang ang kanta. Song 2 ang title at naging official theme song ng pelikulang Starship Troopers.

Ok rin itong kanta na 'to, kahit may lyrics na ko ang hirap sabayan dahil ang bilis ng bibig ng vocalist. Sa chorus yan nakakasabay ako, sarap sabaya ng chorus neto eh! "Now we know where we are going baby, we can lay back and enjooooyyyyy the ride......" Basta childhood memories ko 'tong kanta na 'to.

Hahahaha! Ewan pero panay sexual fantasies ang pumapasok sa isip ko sa kanta na 'to. Nakakakiliti kasi yung boses nung vocalist. Shet!

Ay, one of the best songs na nakakaiyak, ang pagkakasulat ng kanta ay parang kwento. It's all about our brave soldiers who died along the way sa giyera. And there is Mrs. Sullivan waiting for her 5 young boys to return home after the war. It's too late because they died for heroism. And this is a true story from the Battle of Waterloo.
DRIVE BY KISS - DAMBUILDERS
High School days and this song makes me feel inlove lalo na pag aakyat na ko sa room namin at madadaanan ko ang room ni crush na lagi ko siyang nakikita na nakatambay sa pinto. <3 May casette tape ako nito at pinakikinggan ko agad 'to pag nakikita ko siya at ang mapupungay nyang mata.

I don't know but many say's this song by Nirvana's front man Kurt Cobain dedicated this song to Courtney Love. It's a great song from a band legend.
These are just 10% of the songs that I really like from the past. Kese nemen se mge kente ngeyen de be? Tengene! Oh kaya kakanta ka ng Korean pop songs na kahit di mo alam ang ibig sabihin. Punyeta! Maganda sana sila pero mga kaka-i-babe ang mga kinakanta. Kahit naman rakrakan maganda pa rin naman ang kalalabasan kapag love song na rock ang tema, Sobrang dami ko pang gustong alalahaning kanta kaso di ko na malaman ang title at artist. Ok rin naman sana yung Rakista Radio, ang kaso kadalasan Pinoy music underground ang kantahan, madalang din yung temang NU 107 na magkahalo ang foreign at local bands. Puta yun talaga ang hinahanap hanap ko sa airwaves, masaya na ko nuon sa radyo kahit di nako manood ng crap TV shows ngayon ok na sana sa radyo kaso nawala rin ang NU 107 sa ere. Kaylupit talaga ng tadhana. Sana naman maibalik ang mahal kog istasyon sa radyo. Hanggang ngayon naman e umaasa pa rin ako. Sana bukas paggising ko meron na ulet diskusyunan sa "Zack and Joey's Little Talk On A Breakfast Table" this segment starts my day right. Makabuluhang topic discussed by the DJ's then may mga caller to give their opinions. Tapos meron naman kapag Miyerkules sa umaga din yung "New Music Challenge" ay pota astig yun magpapatugtog ng dalawang bagong kanta ng mga sikat na banda tapos pagbobotahan thru text kung ano nagustuhan nila. Kapag ganun nirerecord ko yun sa casette tape namen Hahaha papatungan ko na lang yung mga tape ni ermats. Maganda rin yung "New Album Review" eh dun ako bumabase sa bibilhing kong bagong casette tape dun sa Odyssey dami ko na rin naipon na mga tapes e. At meron countdowns yung "Z-Rock 50" tuwing Linggo yun, nakakaexcite kaya ung sino ang mag nunumber 1, may drum rolls pa nun bago iannounce kung sino nag top for that week. Astig! Tapos ang pinakamasaya at parang pinaka Wrestlemania kung baga sa wrestling e yung "NU 107's Year End Countdown", your top 107 songs all through the year! Kasabay ng paglipat ng Bagong taon kasabay din ng pag-announce ng kung sinong pinaka topnotcher na songs sa isang taon. Ito yung may pinakamaraming votes na nalakap every Remote Control Weekend. Tangina ang saya talaga maging rakista at ang saya talaga ng mga panahong yun!! Bigyan na lang natin ito ng part 2 para sa iba pang kantang gusto ko i-share sa inyo. Isasama ko na rin yung mga Pinoy-Bato songs (Pinoy alternatib at hardcore underground) naman na kapatid na radio station ng NU 107 ang LA 105.9 Rock.
